The first week of July has come and gone - but the summer transfer window is showing no signs of slowing down.

Rangers have bolstered their squad with six new signings, but boss Philippe Clement still wants another attacker. However, the Light might have to go through new Rapid Bucharest boss Neil Lennon if they want to land long-term target Albion Rrahmani. On the exit front Ianis Hagi's future at Ibrox remains uncertain, with the Romanian star's own agent willing to chip in to finance a move elsewhere.

Across the city, champions Celtic are stepping up their efforts to sign Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah on permanent deals, as exclusively revealed by Record Sport. A new goalkeeper remains top of Brendan Rodgers' wishlist and Newcastle stopper Martin Dubravka has been advised to move on if he wants to be a number one.

Up at Pittodrie, new Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin will take charge of his first competitive game against Queen of the South in the Premier Sports Cup next weekend and one man he'll be be hoping to field in that tie is star man Bojan Miovski. Dons chairman Dave Cormack has came out to reiterate their hardline stance on the highly coveted striker.

Down in Edinburgh, Hibs gaffer David Gray has added two new faces to his squad so far and is chasing a reunion with former Leith teammate Simon Murray off the back of the striker's prolific season with Ross County. Pacey wide man Martin Boyle has been linked with a move Down Under but insists he is committed to the Hibees.

Capital rivals Hearts have been among the most active teams in the market having made six new signings, and Costa Rica full back Gerald Taylor is poised to become signing number seven once he is granted a UK visa to complete his loan move to Tynecastle.

Transfer news RECAP - all the latest rumours and done deals (2)

Now the former defender has confirmed he is hanging up his boots, posing on Instagram.

Sad becasue it's over but smiling becasue it happened - thank you football.

Martinez's agent leaves Villa exit door open

Transfer news RECAP - all the latest rumours and done deals (3)

Emi Martinez's agent has left the door open for him to leave Aston Villa.

The World Cup winning keeper has been at it again in the Copa America, making crucial penalty shootout stops as the albiceleste beat Ecuador on spot kicks to book a spot in the semi-finals against Peru.

Today he is in one of the best projects, he has one of the best sporting directors in the world, one of the most prestigious coaches in the world, they have qualified for the Champions League, when nobody thought it was possible,ā€ Gonzalo GoƱi told ESPN.

Surely, they will compete in the Champions League and, with a goalkeeper like Emiliano, who turns everything into a box of surprises, theyā€™ll end up competing on a grand scale.

But itā€™s never all said and done: we are having conversations, listening, watching and weā€™ll seeā€¦ But perhaps, he puts Aston Villa at the level of the greats of Europe.

Lewis has his say on new Dons stopper

Joe Lewis is looking forward to seeing Dimitar Mitov in action for Aberdeen and feels the Bulgarian's style of play could be very effective for his new club.

Mitov has joined the Dons from fellow Premiership side St Johnstone, where he kept eight cleans sheets and broke into the Bulgaria national team.

And Lewis, who made 217 appearances for the Reds between 2016 and 2023, is hopeful that the 27-year-old can bring that level of consistency betweeen the posts to Pittodrie following Kelle Roos' struggles last season.

Speaking to The Press and Journal, he said:

Weā€™ve got Mitov whose come in now, who I thought last season was incredibly consistent, so hopefully there will be more consistency throughout the whole club ā€“ not just on the pitch, but off it as well.

I think maybe Dimitar Mitov is that type of goalkeeper who is looking to come and get crosses and coming out as much as he possibly can.

He might miss a few, but I think you play to your strengths. If the back-four, or back-five ā€“ whatever the manager wants to play ā€“ get used to that and form a good relationship with him, then that will be great, because if we can do that effectively, everyone wants to see that.

Weā€™ve brought in and strengthened the midfield area. So, anyone who wants to play in that midfield area has got to be aggressive, got to be right at it. Got to show real quality. If thatā€™s Scott Fraser then fine.

And the former Celtic boss believes he's uncovered a hidden gem - with airs of Manchester United great Keane.

I was impressed by several young people in the squad. Particularly Gheorghe who I nicknamed Roy Keane. He impressed me not only in terms of football, but also in terms of personality.

I am very satisfied with the way the training went. The players got stronger day by day and the attitude they had towards training and what we asked of them was exemplary. I am very happy for the way they accepted the methods I used with them and the professionalism they showed is excellent.

Kent the butt of 'cruel' Fenerbahce joke

Transfer news RECAP - all the latest rumours and done deals (11)

Frozen-out Ryan Kent looks set to leave Fenerbahce with three English clubs circling - and it sparked an, erm, mixed response from Turkish fans.

The former Rangers winger has had a disastrous time of it in his first season at Fener which is almost certain to be his only one after being bombed out of the squad in February, never to return. He started just once in the Turkish Pro League - the very first game of the season - and quickly became a highly unpopular figure.

Darren Witcoop reports on X that Premier League newboys Ipswich are keen, as are two clubs in the English Championship, and that he is 'exploring all options' before deciding where he's off to. But it wasn't long before the news was hijacked by Fenerbahce fans - who jokingly swear NO ONE wants him to leave after a calamitous season....

De Bruyne: It might be about the money

Transfer news RECAP - all the latest rumours and done deals (12)

'It's not about the money' is often the line you hear from players when they've transparently made a move with the money in mind.

So in a sense it's refreshing to hear a big name like Kevin de Bruyne say the quiet part out loud - and just admit it's the cash that might turn his head.

The Man City star has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but says he's in no rush to leave the Etihad as he enters the final year of his contract.

He's not short of a few quid as it is - he's City's top earner on Ā£400,000 per week. But if an 'absurd' offer comes in, he says he'd need to consider it.

Iā€™ll have a quiet summer. I have never indicated that I want to leave. I have more than enough money. But if an absurd amount comes... that is also for my family, my relatives, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren and my friends.

Anthony Gordon to Liverpool latest

Newcastle have reportedly been backed into a corner by FFP rules and could be forced to sell Anthony Gordon to Liverpool.

The England winger is thought to be one of Arne Slot's early targets and reports down south claim the player's agent is at the back of it pushing for a deal.

Scouser Gordon came through at Everton but the noise is he'd have no issue crossing the Merseyside divide to play for Liverpool if the chance came.

And now The Telegraph report that FFP and PSR regulations mean Newcastle may need to sell for a hefty price to avoid sanctions.

Celtic guarantee emerges from inside dressing room

Transfer news RECAP - all the latest rumours and done deals (13)

Stephen Welsh is adamant champions Celtic never stand still.

The Parkhead defender insists the players will be raring to go again at the big kick-off. With less than a month to go before the Premiership campaign kicks-off against Kilmarnock, the build-up is underway for Brendan Rodgersā€™ title holders.

The manager is patiently working towards adding new recruits to strengthen his Double-winning squad. Welsh says Celtic are always ready for the latest challenges

We are always striving to improve. We are never standing still. I think the more competition for places in the team, the better because it pushes everyone on.

It doesnā€™t matter whereabouts on the pitch it is, if we have a lot of quality in the position, it makes us a better team. We are just looking to get the fitness in now and, by the time the season comes, we will be raring to go. We know we have a great squad, have got winners in the team and weā€™re very much looking forward to the season.

I think (naming transfer targets) is probably a bit higher up than me. I donā€™t think I can completely comment on that. But as I said there, we are never a club that stands still. We always look to improve on and off the pitch, so, yeah, we will see.

We've also got the latest on Matt O'Riley and Martin Dubravka, as the Newcastle keeper is advised to get on his bike if he has an offer elsewhere.

McInnes wants more after Ando makes his mark

Transfer news RECAP - all the latest rumours and done deals (14)

Bruce Anderson was firing for Kilmarnock as he rattled in a friendly hattrick against The New Saints.

But Derek McInnes isn't resting on his transfer laurels there.

New striker Anderson netted three in a 5-0 win over the Welsh side and boss McInnes was thoroughly impressed with his new frontman.

Bruce (against TNS) was exactly what he is. He took advantage of some good build-up play and just being sharp in the box. His goals were all very similar, all in the box, one-touch finishes and a nice calm finisher in the right place at the right time. Just something I felt we could have done with last season and the reason why we brought him in in the first place.

It is pre-season, I donā€™t get too hung up on friendlies and certainly not on the results pre-season because they are never a real indication. But, at the same time, when your centre-forward is scoring a hat-trick, it is always good.

With Anderson signed and Stuart Findlay back on loan from Oxford, McInnes is still working on more new recruits. Defence is now a priority ahead of their Euro bow against Cerle Brugge.

Obviously, there were a few changes and a few lads moved on for different reasons. We were looking to try and get familiarity and get as many of the ones we wanted to keep. Marley Watkins was one, Stuart a massive one. Weā€™ve only added one new signing in terms of Bruce.

We would have taken Will Dennis back in a heartbeat, we would take Corrie Ndaba back in a heartbeat if we could. But Will is going at a pace where he is training with Bournemouth. He will go on their American tour. He probably will go out on loan, but, by that time, we will probably have moved on.

So that oneā€™s not really in our thinking at the moment. We are looking at other options with goalkeeper. And Corrie is one where we would like to bring him back, but I think there will be more than us.ā€

Miller roars over reunion with Ronnie

It only feels like yesterday that I was scoring goals for Rangers AGAINST Ronny Deila when he was Celtic gaffer.

But now Iā€™m in Abu Dhabi about to start a new coaching adventure as his assistant at Al Wahda FC.

The call came out of the blue last week but it was an opportunity I was keen to pursue ā€“ and now I canā€™t wait to get started.

Iā€™ve been out of the game for a year after leaving Huddersfield Town but Iā€™ve always been involved, due to my media work.

For the last 12 months, Iā€™ve watched loads of games every week and tried constantly to learn.

And the truth is, Iā€™ve been itching to get back on to the training pitch.

Thatā€™s why this was a chance I couldnā€™t let pass me by. Everyone knows football is really taking off in this part of the world.

Ronny is a winner. Heā€™s won leagues in just about every country heā€™s been in like Norway, Scotland, America and Belgium.

So I think we have a similar mentality and Al Wahda are a good fit for us.

Theyā€™re a forward-thinking club who want to be challenging for honours every season. That was key for us in taking on this job.

Weā€™re excited at what lies ahead. Weā€™ve signed for a year and weā€™re going to see where it takes us.

The hard work starts now. When I came over on Thursday, I came prepared to stay and get to work.

Weā€™ll take the team to Serbia for pre-season training before the UAE Pro League kicks off.

And weā€™re already trying to assess what weā€™ve got and talking about the players we would like to attract to the club.

Iā€™ve enjoyed my media work but Iā€™m a coach who wants to be out there every day working with players.

And now I canā€™t wait to get my boots back on.
