Day 34 at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas featured five events, which kept the pace slower than usual. But with lesser tournaments running, the action did not slow down in any way. Scott Seiver joined the ranks of elite players who scored three bracelets in a single series. With Player of the Year in mind, it would be interesting to see if Seiver wins the race.

Event #72: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship

The main highlight was Event #72: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship, which crowned its champion on the third and final day. Starting with just nine out of 186 entrants, Scott Seiver emerged victorious, winning his third bracelet of the summer and $411,041. This achievement marks the first time anyone has won three bracelets in a single series in Las Vegas since Jeff Lisandro in 2009. George Danzer also won three in 2014, but one of his wins was in the WSOP Asia-Pacific series. Although Seiver was the only one to win a bracelet, plenty of action unfolded at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

Vincent Lee Shines Bright on Day 1C of the Colossus

Day 1C of Event #70: $400 Colossus saw 8,589 entrants, with only 1,057 advancing after 17 intense levels. Vincent Lee led the pack on the third and final flight, bagging 1,470,000 chips, securing the Day 1C chip leader position and fourth overall.

Lee, who has already cashed in three large-field events this series, excelled in the $300 Gladiators of Poker, the $800 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack, and the $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty. William Wilkinson led for most of the day but lost ground late on, allowing Lee to surpass him.

Hi Kevin. The recent update from @PokerNews & @YorkyPuds shows a 10am restart for the Colossus.

Can you please confirm if it’s 10 or 11?https://t.co/CTLi9KjckJ

Other notable Day 1C survivors include Dinesh Alt (648,000), Max Kruse (625,000), Angela Jordison (523,000), $25K Fantasy Draft pick Matt Glantz (485,000), PokerNews Deepstack Championship winner Hector Berry (281,000), Martin Kabrhel (267,000), and Lara Eisenberg (188,000). Play resumes on Day 2 at 10:00 AM local time on 1st July with 2,358 players aiming to complete another 15 levels.

Jamie Kerstetter Leads the Final Six in the Ladies Championship

Jamie Kerstetter (9,330,000) is leading Event #71: $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Championship, with only six out of 1,245 entrants remaining in the hunt for the $171,732 top prize and the coveted gold bracelet. Kerstetter, who narrowly missed out on a bracelet in 2022 by finishing second in the $1,000 Tag Team event, is now only five eliminations away from becoming a WSOP champion.

Japan’s Shiina Okamoto (8,640,000) is second in chips, aiming to improve on her runner-up finish in this event last year. Kerstetter and Okamoto hold a combined 225 big blinds, while the remaining four players have 87. The gap between Okamoto in second and Linda Durden (3,110,000) in third is a significant 69 big blinds. Mor Kamber (1,755,000) is in fourth, Cecile Ticherfatine (1,100,000) in fifth, and Ceci Liao (970,000) rounds out the field.
