YOUTHFUL GLOW

Posting under the handle Manicpixieautistic, the Redditor spoke about how the cream kept her family member’s skin in good condition.

“Oh yes, I've been using it since I was a baby!!” she said.

“My mom, her mother, and my now late great-aunt all swear by it and their skin is beautiful and moisturized.

“My mom would slather me in it as a kid after baths and I didn't really get it then, but lord am I happy to know about it now!

“My grandmother is in her 90s and her face is smooth, soft & elastic.”

Pond’s Dry Skin Cream Facial Moisturizer costs $6.29 at Target.

Delighted customers have given it a 4.4-star rating out of a possible 5.

Superstar moisturizer

According to the manufacturer, it has been formulated to “deeply” moisturize skin without clogging pores.

The Redditor said she only uses the cream on her face but it’s also “amazing” for the body.

“It's the only moisturizer I've ever used and I don't think I'll ever switch,” she said.

“I know some folks prefer a cream with more active ingredients but honestly, I like that it's simple and I can count on it to lock everything in.”

She advised people to use the blue-lid Ponds Cold Cream rather than the green lid, which is formulated for removing makeup.

MIRACULOUS MOISTURIZER

The post was highly rated and hundreds of commenters in the thread shared their own experiences with the beautifying cream.

“I used to use Ponds cold cream throughout my 20s," one person said.

"I have minimal wrinkles at 35 (still got some nasty 11s that hang around for a few minutes when I squint in the sun or frown though!!).

"I’ve become extra paranoid about my 11s, so I’ve just bought the ponds anti-wrinkle and the ponds normal moisturizer as well.

“I genuinely do feel that the oldest and most basic skincare is the best really…

“There has to be a reason it’s been around for so long all the expensive lotions and potions just have added extras that probably aren’t needed and are all dolled up in fancy packaging.”

Anti-aging tips and 'superstar' products

Dr. Anatalia Moore is a GP and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.

She told The U.S. Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin journey.

She said the fundamental basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages — it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.

"Moisturizers are my superstar, even over products containing active ingredients," she said.

“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them in, literally stabilizes your skin.

“This in itself quickly can soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as often these are worsened by dehydration.

“It also allows the skin to function as it should.

“It then can heal faster, which, among many things, can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, less flares of dermatitis and rosacea, and shorter-lived, milder breakouts.”

Dr. Moore's skincare staples:

  • Obagi Hydrate and Hydrate Lux moisturizer, $78
  • Adequate sleep
  • Balanced diet
  • Reducing stress

“It works for all skin types and ages!” another said.

“I'm 20 and my brothers are 22 and 15... I put them on to Ponds and they have not looked back since.

“Gives the skin such an effortless glow without feeling greasy.”

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, moisturizing products such as creams and ointments are most effective when applied to damp skin.
