Truck was great. Service/ Owner was horrible. When I went to the lot, there was not anyone there, so I called the number. The guy was rude right off the cuff. He told me I had to go to the store on 4th st to get the key and that all that is online. I said no, it wasn’t, I came to the lot on my email. Then he spouts out the address to where I had to go. I asked him if there was someone who could bring me the key and he started being a total jerk saying he can’t close his store to give transportation. I asked how far away it was and he told me “I don’t know, put it in your GPS and I am not going to let you talk to me some type of way!” I said “ok” and hung up. I had a coworker take me to the store so I didn’t have to walk 10 blocks up and 10 blocks back in this heat…Got there and he was outside of the store on his phone… gave me an up and down look then stood up and went inside all while he continued to talk on the phone. Then he waited on two girls that came in for cigarettes AFTER me, he waited on them first. (the place was shady to say the least.) Then he asked if I was returning the truck to his lot and I said no, to the rental place next to my house in the next city over, it was reserved like that. He said he “was not going to do that. I am NOT taking food out if his baby’s mouth by taking HIS truck 2 miles and leave it at another Uhaul place” I looked at him and said “you’re not going to rent it to me?” He said “no, I don’t want to. You realize it’s double the rental price to do it like that, right?” I said “yes. I do”. He said I am not giving you my last 15 footer to leave in in the next town. I said “what about your reservation guarantee. Are you going to give me the $50?” Then he said “oh I’ll get you a truck, I’m calling another place up on 213” I said “there is no way I can get to 213 to get it” he glared at me and continued to call them. They talked about me on speaker back and forth… basically, I’m a stupid girl for renting a truck for “2 miles”. And they didn’t understand why… finally I got angry and yelled so they phone guy could hear me “I am picking up a sectional sofa from over here and taking it to my house in the other town. THATS why!” The ass asked the phone guy “you hear her? You hear her?” The phone guy got quiet as said “yes”. Then I asked him “would it make it better if I brought it back to your lot at 6:30 in the morning?” He smiled and told phone guy “Nevermind, I got it” and hung up. Then he proceeded to check me in (finally you’d think) and I said “I did all of that online before I came” he said “trust me! I don’t want you in here any longer than you want to be in here. I don’t want to talk to you either. I don’t want to look at you either” I said “sir, I didn’t say ANYTHING like that, I was just letting you know in case it’s somewhere else because it was uploaded.” He said “I Do Not Work Here I Am The Owner And I Am Doing Everything The Proper Way” I just rolled my eyes and said “ok”. I took the key and as I was walking out he said “make sure you leave the gas exactly where it is now”. I didn’t even respond to that. I just left.

Uhaul Disgusting Customer Service

Uhaul confirm rental; then at last minute call – no truck available!. Rented a truck online from Madison West Towne mall location Wisconsin. Received a confirmation. Then at 3pm the day before I was to pick up the Uhaul they called to say they do not have a truck available. Offered me a cargo van which is too small (plus had to pick up from another location). Then found what I have reserved at another location, long drive from home. I asked if they could please bring it to the location I had reserved the vehicle from, she said no. I then asked if I could get the size bigger for same price as this was their issue, again she said no. Kala Bergin Reservation Specialist 749MCO, the women from the reservation office, was rude, shouting down the phone kept repeating herself when I said this will not work. She did not care about the situation she had caused for me, her customer. She just assumed that I should run all over the city to pick up a vehicle that I had reserved at a specific location. She did let it slip that she had to call quite a few customers with the same issue, no trucks as they had broken down. She did say “I apologize for this, but we cannot help our trucks breaking down” however not for a second was she sorry, no empathy, just following protocol, because if she did not use the word sorry she would be in trouble with her superiors. However not sorry enough to really help! Clearly all trucks in disrepair! No back ups in case a vehicle breaks down. No option to upgrade for same price as it was their problem. Disgusting customer service!! Will never use Uhaul again… plenty more different companies out there, with better reviews too.U Haul may have better name recognition but clearly a sub par company. Do not waste your time with them.. call the other companies first! I did and got what I wanted from Penske. I also need to mention that at the location I needed to pick up the truck with Penske the size I wanted was not available there, however a quick call was made, the representative found one and will have it at the location I requested for me to pick up. Now THAT is Customer Service!! Way to go Penske!! Please call Penske for all your moving needs!! Do not waste your time on Uhaul.

Scamming 1 truck at a time. Customer service department will not listen to concerns. Even with verification and validation proving complaint employees will not fix issues, will become arrogant and then charge even more. Trucks are different states of disrepair. To the point of failure. Quoted prices are never honored, often changed upon return if employee is in a bad mood.

Unable toget a bill in ENGLISH in Quebec, all safety instructions(bilingual removed) and French only added. Important. 90 % of companies have phone instruction press 9 for ENGLISH, Uhaul does NOT, French only, there is NO law against. helping both languages, imagine if you rented a car from outside Quebec but needed help in Quebec, unable to do so, also your, equipment does travel to many area’s in Canada, but all the bilingual safety instruction removed and replaced with French only,

how would someone from Ontario but in a safety seat, change a tire, or maybe overload the van.
