Guirassy set for Dortmund

Guinea star Serhou Guirassy is poised to join Borussia Dortmund from Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart.

The 28-year-old enjoyed another prolific season in front of goal in 2023/24, netting a remarkable 28 goals in 28 league matches to help his side pip Bayern Munich to the runner's up spot behind title winners Bayer Leverkusen.

But the rangey striker is now set to move onto pastures new with Sky Germany's Florian Plettenburg confirming that Guirassy will pen a medical at Dortmund before signing a four year deal after the two clubs reached an agreement over a transfer fee.

Hibs keen on keeper Theo Sander

Hibs are in the running to sign Copenhagen keeper Theo Sander, according to reports in Denmark.

Teenage keeper Sander comes highly-rated and this past December was linked with Arsenal, Brentford and a host of top clubs.

He's been Copenhagen's backup keeper for the last year since his move from Aalborg but they want to ship him out to get regular gametime this season.

Danish outlet Bold say Hibs are keen, as are Blackburn Rovers. But the deciding factor is said to be whether either club can offer him the necessary first-team football to make a move worthwhile.

Hibs have of course already signed Josef Bursik this window who is expected to be David Gray's No.1. Loaning in a keeper to play second fiddle seems unlikely so any move for Sander likely hinges on him having the quality to go straight in and start.

Rojas makes transfer admission

Reported Celtic target Andy Rojas has revealed he is ready to try his luck in Europe.

The Costa Rican international is currently playing in his home country with Herediano, who recently confirmed that they have received two bids for the talented 18-year-old.

Rojas has just helped Herediano lift the Costa Rican Super Cup but admits his ambitions lie further afield.

Jensen drops transfer hint

Peter Vindahl Jensen admits he dreams of playing in the Champions League amid heavy interest from Celtic.

Record Sport revealed on Monday night that the Hoops are set to make a fresh bid for the Danish stopper, who Sparta Prague value at £8million. The 26-year-old is right at the top of Brendan Rodgers shortlist, with the champions in the market for a new no.1 goalkeeper following Joe Hart's retirement.

And the player himself has now came out to potentially open the door to a move to Parkhead.

He said:

Things change, you never know what will happen in life. Football is a strange world, very unpredictable. I just want to be the best I can be. We'll see where it takes me. And if I ever become a keeper for a famous big club or not, I don't really care anymore, as long as I do my best for them. But I do want to play in the Champions League - everyone would want to, whether with Sparta or any other club. The Champions League is every boy's dream.

Leige reject the chance to sign up Jack

Standard Liege have reportedly rejected the chance to sign released Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack on a free.

The former Ibrox player was allowed to leave in the summer after spending seven years at the club and the 32-year-old was linked with a move to Dundee last month.

However, reports in Belgium have revealed the Scotland international was offered to Standard in a bid to resurrect his career abroad.

But cash-strapped Standard declined to offer Jack a deal with Croatian manager Ivan Leko not interested and have turned their attention instead to former Bochum star Christophe Antwi-Adjei and ex-Ghent player Dylan Bronn instead, with both also available for nothing.

Jack was a part of Steve Clarke's Euro 2024 squad despite managing just five league starts for Rangers last season, but failed to play a single minute in Germany.

09:59Anthony Evans

Hagi in the firing line

Former Romania boss has criticised Ianis Hagi's lack of work rate on the pitch despite the Rangers midfielder helping his country reach the last 16 at Euro 2024.

The playmaker - who appeared in all four matches at the tournament, will report back to Ibrox later this month for pre-season training after spending the whole of last season on loan at Alaves in Spain.

And the 25-year-old has found an unlikely ally who has called on Philippe Clement to wipe the slate clean and give Hagi another chance to shine in Govan.

Killie knock back bids for Armstrong

Kilmarnock have reportedly rejected two bids from Bolton Wanderers for winger Danny Armstrong.

Armstrong was one of the best wingers in the Premiership last season and is entering the final year of his contract.

Derek McInnes has made it clear he wants him to pen new terms but there's yet to be a breakthrough.

The Daily Mail report that Bolton have tried their luck with two bids, the best around £400,000.

But Killie have said no as they want to hold onto their key wide man at all costs.

08:59Anthony Evans

Nsiala settling in nicely

Defender Clinton Nsiala is one of five new faces to come through the doors at Rangers so far this summer.

The 20-year-old is not expected to go straight into Philippe Clement's staring XI, but a training clip of the Frenchman linkning up with his new teammates in training to great effect has surfaced on social media, suggesting that the former AC Milan youngster is already finding his feet in Govan.

Man Utd launch second Branthwaite bid

Manchester United are believed to have tabled a fresh bid for Everton defender Jarrad Branithwaite.

According to the Liverpool Echo, an offer worth £50million was tabled to the Toffees late on Monday night.

Last month, the Red Devils saw a bid of £35million plus a further £8million in add ons rejected, and the Echo also reports that the secons bid will also be turned down, with Everton holding out for a much larger fee for the England international.

Former Toffee set for Liverpool

Ex Everton defender Johnny Heitinga is poised to join Merseyside rivals Liverpool as a coach.

The 40-year-old worked as assistant manager to his old boss David Moyes at West Ham last season but is now expected to team up with new Reds gaffer Arne Slot at Anfield.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, he said:

I’m in talks with Liverpool. All I can say now is that I have been approached and that my agent Rob Jansen and I are in discussions.

Ibrox reunion on the cards

Kyle Hutton says he can't wait to face off against his old Rangers teammate Kyle Lafferty in the West of Scotland League this season.

The 33-year-old has just joined up with sixth tier side Gartcairn and will face his old Light Blues pal when they take on Lafferty's Johnstone Burgh, who are expected to challenge for the title.

Midfielder Hutton made 72 appearances for Rangers between 2010 and 2015.

08:12Anthony Evans

Gunners eye up Bentley

Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry about the services of Wolves' back-up goalkeeper Dan Bentley.

The 30-year-old joined Wolves from Bristol City back in January 2023 and has made five Premier League appearances at Molineux.

Mikel Arteta's side have already snapped up Brentford David Raya on a permanent basis after he impressed in a loan spell but The Athletic now report that Bentley is in in their sights.

Should a deal go through, it would add even more doubt onto Aaron Ramsdale's future at The Emirates.

07:52Robbie Copeland

Spurs offer player plus cash for Jacob Ramsey

Tottenham reportedly want to sign Aston Villa's Jacob Ramsey - and are keen to use misfit Giovani Lo Celso to keep the price down.

Ramsey spent much of last season sidelined with two separate injuries but impressed in a mid-season run in Unai Emery's team. The season before that, he managed six goals and eight assists and was thought to be on Liverpool's radar last summer.

Now, Sky Sports report Spurs want him and have offered Lo Celso, who started just six games last season and was primarily a late sub for Ange Postecoglou, to make a deal happen.

It's claimed their first offer of £20m plus the Argentine has been booted out but they could come back to the table.

Arsenal should '100 per cent' go for Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal have been urged to make their move and land Dusan Vlahovic this summer - two-and-a-half years after he snubbed them for Juventus.

Vlahovic had the world at his feet in January 2022 after banging in the goals for Fiorentina but eventually chose Juve for £75m.

That decision was questioned at the time, former Italy striker Antonio Cassano even decsribing it as a 'sensationally wrong' call from the Serbian. 41 goals in 101 appearances for Juve doesn't exactly scream disaster, but he hasn't quite fit in.

And speaking to bettingexpert.com, Silvestre reckons bygones should be bygones. He sayd it would '100 per cent' be a good deal for the Gunners.

It's more of a summer signing. Based on ability and technically he's excellent. We would have to deal with Juventus, which isn't easy, but would he be a good buy? Yes. 100 per cent.

Atletico keeper 'back on Celtic's agenda'

Atletico Madrid keeper Horatiu Moldovan is reportedly back on Celtic's radar.

A number of keepers are being tracked by Brendan Rodgers and Record Sport revealed last night that Peter Vindahl Jensen is high among them.

But the boss hinted his options are still very much open and the Daily Mail say 26-year-old Moldovan is once again a live option.

He was loosely linked with Celtic in January but moved to Atletico instead. However since then he's found minutes hard to come by and said before the Euros that he wants a move.

Now it's claimed he's under consideration again with Basel, Sevilla, Ludogorets and Real Betis also keen.

Hearts starlet wants pass marks on AND off pitch

Hearts starlet James Wilson is desperate to make the grade on and off the pitch as he targets goals and exam results.

The 17-year-old striker made his debut in January and was linked with the Old Firm and Manchester United before signing a new Jambos deal.

Asked his ambitions, Wilson said his first goal is to get off the mark in Gorgie. Then it's all eyes on his exams.

I want to score my first goal, that’s the first one. I want to hear the crowd after I score. I need to get on pitch and get as many minutes as possible, that’s down to me to prove myself.

Wilson admits combing his football training with his academic studies is a challenge.

It’s tough on my day off going into school, although it’s nice seeing my friends. But going home after training I’m doing a tutor, I’m having to sit myself down and do two hours work and that is tough. You do get some time off though.

Hopefully I get the results I want at the end of this year.

New Saint Essel impresses Craig Levein

Craig Levein admits Aaron Essel has made a massive early impression at St Johnstone, writes Fraser Mackie.

The Ghanaian stood out in the second half of Saturday’s friendly win at Arbroath.

And the Saints manager is struggling to keep a lid on excitement about unleashing the 18-year-old on the Premiership. Levein says Essel already shows signs of being a starting fixture in the side.

He has captained his national Under-20 team and been tipped for senior honours.

Saints snapped Essel up from Bechem United and his manager revealed he’s in a happy place in Perth.

The enthusiasm and energy Aaron brings to the team is brilliant. He smiles every single minute of every single day! He comes into the training as if it’s his first day – every day. I don’t want to put expectations on him. Obviously if he feels comfortable then I’m pretty sure he will be a regular.

Essel played as a defensive midfielder at Gayfield with a performance of maturity beyond his years. But Levein doesn't even know where his best position is yet - and that's no bad thing for the Peth boss.

Is he a midfielder or a defender? That’s the good thing, I don’t know. We will see. He’s certainly making an impression.

Good morning!

Rise and shine!

Let's get this show on the road, shall we? Michael Gannon gets us motoring this morning with his Tuesday Sportsview - and it's Celtic in his sights as fans want to see Brendan Rodgers' transfer kitty spent.

Everyone knows the line about patience being a virtue. Not many know the next bit from the original quote that mentions ‘an ass that trots beneath his burden and is quiet’. And the poem from the middle ages certainly doesn’t mention football fans tearing out their hair in the wait for new signings to arrive.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers admitted the other day there is a need for patience when it comes to transfers. He knows there is work to be done and, for the most part, Parkhead punters have been pretty chilled out so far. But there is definitely a sense some of them are getting a little tense as they hold on for the pics of new faces with scarves above their heads.

They’d be as well holding tight. Celtic will make signings. Historically, they might take their time but new recruits – and plenty of them – do tend to arrive eventually.

Robby McCrorie 'nears' Rangers exit

Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie is reportedly set to sign for Kilmarnock.

Derek McInnes has been on the hunt for a new Rugby Park No. 1 after Will Dennis returned to parent club Bournemouth.

McCrorie has been pushed down the Ibrox pecking order following the arrival of Liam Kelly - with Jack Butland the undisputed first-choice for Philippe Clement.

The Sun report the 26-year-old is on the verge of sealing a two-year deal with the Ayrshire club.

Norwich City supremo sets out Adam Idah stall

Norwich sporting director Ben Knapper insists he is keen to keep Celtic target Adam Idah at the club this summer.

After a successful loan spell last season, Brendan Rodgers is hoping to being the Ireland international back to Celtic Park.

And speaking at a meeting with Norwich fans, Knapper set out his stall - insisting he and new boss Johannes Thorup want to work with the player.

He's a fantastic player, and in winter he had one of the best goals per minute ratios in Europe. He's a proven goalscorer at Championship level and did very well at Celtic. He's a full international who's home grown and has come through the system. He’s exactly the type of player who excites me.

Paulo Bernardo to Celtic is ON

Celtic have reportedly agreed a fee with Benfica to bring Paulo Bernardo back to the club this summer.

Playmaker Bernardo spent last season on loan and showed his class at times - stepping up to the plate mid-season when Reo Hatate and Callum McGregor were out injured. He also came off the bench to help down Rangers in the Scottish Cup final. There was an option to buy in the region of £6million in his loan agreement with Record Sport revealing that Benfica had been keen to stick to that figure for for the 22-year-old.

However, the Scottish Premiership champions had been looking to negotiate the fee down to around £4million. Portuguese outlet Mais Futebol now claim that a fee in the region of £4.2million has now been agreed between the two clubs.

However, it may not be straightforward with Birmingham City also said to be considering a deal.

DONE DEAL! St Johnstone sign Essel

St johnstone have completed the signing of Aaron Essel.

The 18-year-old becomes the first signing of the Adam Webb era at McDiarmid Park, penning a three-year deal with the Saints.

I am so happy to sign here. It is a great step for me in my career and to develop.

I am very proud and getting the chance to be here is a blessing. I want to show my qualities on the field - my tackles, my passing. I just want to develop to become a key player of the club.

The staff, players and manager have been amazing. The people here have been so amazing with welcoming me. I love it and I am looking to do my best.

Boss Craig Levein believes Essel is one for the future.

Aaron is a young lad who has potential and he has a lot of the required skillsets to be a good player. He trained with us for about 10 days towards the end of last season and did really well.

Ajeti opens up on Celtic slog

Albian Ajeti has lifted the lid on his Celtic nightmare as he declares injury woes held him back at Parkhead.

Ajeti saw his time at Parkhead come to an end last summer having been brought to Parkhead on a four-year deal in 2020 under Neil Lennon. He joined Gaziantep - before quickly being moved on by the Turkish side in January to kickstart his career at FC Basel in his native Switzerland.

Discussing his time in Glasgow’s east end, the Swiss international told BZ:

For one thing, I was probably too impatient and started playing again too soon. I then tried a lot of things, changed my diet, paid attention to my blood values and had my teeth checked.

I really did everything I could to stay fit, I even changed my mattress because I thought that might be the reason.

The only thing I didn't change was my wife. But when you're in a spiral of injuries, it's not easy to get out of it.

Things look Chippa for Teto after GBE rejection

Aphelele Teto has joined South African side Chippa united on loan from Livingston.

The wide man joine the Lions from TS Galaxy last summer after the SAF were unwilling to approve Teto's registration and refusing to give him a Governing Body Endorsem*nt (GBE).

As a club, we were left with no option other than trying to find Teto a club for the season coming," said Davie Martindale.

With his GBE (Governing Body Endorsem*nt) being refused by the SFA again, I find the process itself incredibly disappointing. As a club, we have had the player training with us for a full season and know what Aphelele could bring to the team. With relegation to the Championship, we felt that significant change in circ*mstance would help in our argument to convince the GBE panel that Teto would play for us.

With no right of appeal on the decision, it was imperative as a club we secured our asset but got the player out playing football which is essential for him at this stage.

We wish Teto all the best at Chippa United.

Parker has eyes on EPL return

Scott Parker wants to take Burnley back the EPL.

The new Clarets boss has addressed the media for the first time after replacing Vincent Kompany at the Championship club.

I've taken some much needed time to reflect. It had been a very hectic time for me, in terms of playing career straight into management. The year's rest I've taken has been very helpful. This is a fantastic opportunity for me, and there's a freshness about me to get things done.

I've had offers, but they weren't right for me. I wanted time to recharge a bit, and go over things in my head. I'm now excited and enthusiastic about this opportunity I have ahead. It's been a long process to get to this position, but I've got to know the ownership a bit more and gained an intimate understanding of the football club.

This is a team that has been relegated last year, but the season before had real success. It's everyone here, we've got something to prove, and that's what we'll aim to do.

The aim is to [return to the Premier League]. Vinny [Vincent Kompany] did a fantastic job in that sense, and left the good bones of a football club. The squad here is good. We have to be competing at the right end of the table.

Kilmarnock get euro bonus

Kilmarnock's European opponents Cercle Brugge have suffered a defensive injury crisis after star summer signing Ibrahim Diakite was crocked.

The Ayrshire side face the Belgian outfit in the Europa League later this month after clinching a return to European football last term. However, Cercle Brugge have serious problems because the club's only dedicated right back, on loan Reims defender and Guinea international Diakite injured his thigh and will be missing for up to two months, ruling him out of both legs against Killie.

Ibrahim Diakite has suffered an injury and will be out for up to a couple of months. That's a big problem because we lost a couple of right backs this summer - Hugo Siquet and Leo Lopes. Everyone with us knows that we have to be ready to deliver against Kilmarnock.

Celtic have been monitoring the 18-year-old, who played in the Copa America before returning to his homeland club, with Brendan Rodgers yet to add to his champions since the opening of the summer transfer window.

Herediano have previously claimed to have rejected one firm offer from an unnamed Portuguese club for Rojas, who is valued at around £900,000 and also has interest from teams in Spain and Belgium.

And sports director Robert Garbanzo has revealed interest in their star talent has been ramped up, after the Super Cup triumph.

We have now received two formal offers for Andy. I am not going to say the names of the club. We hope to make the best decision for the club, both financially and sportingly for Andy. In fact, the reason Andy was included in the squad for the Final so soon after the Copa America was for his benefit.

It was a showpiece game played at the National Stadium and the ideal way to show off his many talents. The game showed the talents of an 18-year-old kid to the world.

Rojas scored eight goals in 29 starts for his club last season and netted his first international goal for his country last month in a World Cup qualifier against St Kitts and Nevis.

PSG eye midfield reinforcements

Joshua Kimmich is on PSG's summer shortlist.

But he is NOT an alternativie to Joao Neves reports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The French giants consider both players as options to bring on board.

It is claimed Benfica want €120m for their prized asset making it a potentially difficult deal to get over the line but Kimmich could be easier due to his contract situation.
