Tonight was the Season 26 Finale! The cast opened the night with a song from “Wicked”. The musical and now movie was such a great start to the finale. Plus, there was no greater test for the contestants than taking on “Defying Gravity”.

It really showed who has what it takes. It also instantly put everyone in such a good mood. Some of the judges were signing along as well. Michael Bublé later said that this was the best job he’s had since he worked at Chuck E Cheese. There were plenty that were so grateful to be there. Dan + Shay weren’t even coaches this season and they still came back to perform a Christmas song tonight.

They performed “Officially Christmas”. It was the season after all. Everyone lit a candle tonight. They spoke about how great the season was and how they never wanted it to end. Gwen Stefani was also glad to be around Sydney Sterlace. Gwen was the mother to several boys. She was outnumbered at home and Sydney got to be the daughter she never had. They performed “Wild World” tonight. They made their rendition sound like an original and it was a big hit with everyone. Sydney has such a great voice.

Myles Smith performed next. He performed his hit “Stargazing”. It was a fun and upbeat song. It also served as great segue to Snoop Dog mentoring Jeremy Beloate. Snoop has lost a couple of people this year. He had to bury loved ones and Jeremy helped him heal. He made him feel useful again. He gave Snoop a chance to be there for someone else. The two of them performed “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” together. Snoop wasn’t much of a singer. And so Jeremy got to shine a little brighter than he normally would.

Last season’s winner also came back for tonight. Huntley with his amazing and raspy voice performed “Skyline Drive”. It had a little of everything. He was rock but it also has a saxophone solo. It was perfect for Huntley. He’s been touring since his season. He’ll come in handy with helping the newest winner get ready for their turn. In between the performances, there was some light-hearted fun. Reba helped Michael become a cowboy. He had everything from the hat to the chaps. And he tried to ride a mechanical bull.

When Michael wasn’t following off those things, he was listening to a real cowboy. Riley Green performed next with Ella Langley. They performed “Don’t Mind If I Do”. They have another song together that was currently topping the charts in Country music. They have bright futures as solo artists as well as together. They sounded amazing together. The whole night has been really great. They were followed by Shye and her mentor. Michael chose the song “Say Something Stupid” because he loved Frank Sinatra’s rendition with his daughter. Michael saw Shye as a surrogate daughter and he thought she’d sound great with the song.

There was just one problem. Shye was a little shy with the song. She let Michael’s voice be the dominant one. Her own voice basically hid in the background. She’s a great singer. It’s just this song that she seemed hesitant with. Next up was Snoop Dogg and Sting. The two are great friends. Snoop also got to return to his rapping roots. They performed “Another Part of Me”. They both got to shine. They also marked the first half of tonight’s season finale with a downloadable hit.

It was also announced tonight that Michael was returning next season as a coach. He was actually the only one of the current coaches coming back. Reba was taking time off. It probably had to do with her new sitcom, but while we have her, the show took every chance to love them some Reba. She was holding onto her title of Queen of Country. She performed her duet with Danny Joseph. They sang “You Don’t Know Me”. Their spin was both classic and a little bit country. Danny’s voice really got to shine with it. The duet itself received a standing ovation.

The same went for Kelly too. Kelly Clarkson returned tonight to perform “You For Christmas”. She looked amazing. She had the best attire of the night and it wasn’t just her makeup that was flawless. Kelly brings such a great atmosphere wherever she goes. There was never any doubt she’d get a standing ovation. She was followed by Sofronio Vasquez. He was performing with his mentor/coach. They sang “Who’s Lovin’ You”. Sofronio wasn’t afraid to share space with Michael. He got to shine and he left room for Michael to also shine as well.

They were followed by Tears for Fears. They performed mix of their two classics. “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and “The Girl That I Call Home”. They were still great. Only there was a mystery tonight. Someone had stolen Snoop’s candy. They brought in a team from Dateline to investigate. Everyone was questioned and Michael was cracking under the pressure. He was left in a room while Snoop learned he left his candy with his coat. The candy was eventually found when someone moved his coat and all the candy dropped out. Snoop later explained that candy keeps him focused and happy. It was his fuel.

Then came the last performance of the night. Asher HaVon came back tonight to perform his newest song, “Thank You”. It was off of his latest album and it was a perfect song for both the show and his coach. Reba helped him nurture his talent. The show gave him a platform to be heard. Asher’s voice was forever beautiful. And it was great for the last performance of the night.

The votes were in and both of Michael’s artists ended up as one and two.

The winner who took it all this season was Sofronio Vasquez!

THE END!
