Connectivity Wired

The G-Wolves Hati HT-S ACE Edition is an excellent ultra-lightweight gaming mouse. It feels well-built, and it's one of the lightest mice we've tested. Its body has two side buttons on the left and honeycomb cutouts on the top shell and sides. Its comfortable ambidextrous shape is well-suited for all grip types and accommodates all but extra-large hand sizes. That said, there's a larger version of this mouse, theG-Wolves Hati HT-M Classic Edition, which is better suited for larger hands. It also has a high-quality paracord-like cable with decent flexibility and mouse feet that glide smoothly on mousepads and desks. Performance-wise, it has a very low lift-off distance, and you can adjust the CPI by increments of 50 across a broad range. Unfortunately, the G-Wolves Hati S has very high click latency for a gaming mouse, and there's some minor flex and creaking when you apply enough pressure to the sides or bottom of the honeycomb body.

Our Verdict

7.1 Office/Multimedia

The G-Wolves Hati S is satisfactory for office and multimedia work. It feels well-built and has a comfortable ambidextrous shape that's suitable for all grip types and all but extra-large hands. You can also program all the buttons using the customization software. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any wireless connection options, and the scroll wheel lacks L/R tilt buttons and has no free-scrolling mode.

Pros

  • Feels well-built.

  • All buttons are reprogrammable.

Cons

  • Wired-only.

  • Scroll wheel lacks L/R tilt buttons and has no free scrolling mode.

8.6 Video Games (FPS)

The G-Wolves Hati S is a great mouse for FPS gaming, but its click latency is high for a gaming mouse, and many gamers may prefer a more responsive option. That said, it feels well-built and is extremely lightweight. Its comfortable ambidextrous shape is well-suited for all grip types and all but extra-large hand sizes. It also has a high-quality, decently flexible cable and mouse feet that glide smoothly on mousepads and desks. Performance-wise, it has a very low lift-off distance, and you can adjust the CPI precisely by increments of 50 within a broad range.

Pros

  • Feels well-built.

  • Extremely lightweight.

  • High quality paracord-like cable with decent flexibility.

Cons

  • Click latency is very high for a gaming mouse.

7.4 Video Games (MMO)

The G-Wolves Hati S is decent for MMO gaming, but it doesn't have nearly as many side buttons as a dedicated MMO gaming mouse, and it has high click latency compared to similar mice. That said, you can reprogram all of the buttons it does have using the customization software. It also feels well-built and has a comfortable, ambidextrous shape well-suited for all grip types and all except for extra-large hand sizes. Performance-wise it has a very low lift-off distance, and you can adjust the CPI precisely by increments of 50 within a broad range.

Pros

  • Feels well-built.

  • High quality paracord-like cable with decent flexibility.

Cons

  • Click latency is very high for a gaming mouse.

  • Not nearly as many side buttons as a dedicated MMO gaming mouse.

9.0 Ultra-Light Gaming

The G-Wolves Hati S is an excellent ultra-lightweight gaming mouse, but it has high click latency compared to similar gaming mice. That said, it's extremely light and feels well-built with only minor flexing and creaking if you apply enough pressure to the sides or bottom of the body. It also has a high-quality, decently flexible cable and mouse feet that glide smoothly on mousepads and desks. Its ambidextrous shape is well-suited for all grip types and all but extra-large-sized hands. Performance-wise, it has a very low lift-off distance, and you can adjust the CPI precisely by increments of 50 within a wide range.

Pros

  • Feels well-built.

  • Extremely lightweight.

  • High quality paracord-like cable with decent flexibility.

  • Mouse feet that glide very smoothly on mousepads and desks.

Cons

  • Click latency is very high for a gaming mouse.

5.4 Travel

The G-Wolves Hati S is inadequate for travel as it's bulky and likely won't fit in most laptop cases. It also lacks wireless connection options, making it cumbersome to use in tight spaces like buses, trains, or planes. That said, it feels well-built and has an ambidextrous shape well-suited for all grip types and all except for extra-large-sized hands. It also has onboard memory that allows you to use custom settings on computers without the software installed.

Pros

  • Feels well-built.

Cons

  • Wired-only.

  • Bulky; may not fit in most laptop cases.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

We tested the G Wolves Hati S ACE Edition which has a PixArt 3389 Sensor, Omron 20m switches, and honeycomb cutouts in the sides and at the top of the body. Later versions of the ACE have Kailh 8.0 switches instead of the Omron 20m switches. There's also a classic variant of this mouse with a PMW 3360 sensor, honeycomb cutouts in only the top of the body, and, depending on its production date, either Omron 20m or Kailh 8.0 switches. While certain aspects of our review may apply to both variants, we expect them to perform differently.

The unit we tested is theStardust Black/Red color version, but it's also available in Stardust Black and Stardust Universe Blue. You can see the label for our unit here.

Compared To Other Mice

The G-Wolves Hati S is an excellent lightweight gaming mouse. It's the smaller version of the G-Wolves Hati HT-M Classic Edition, and it's an ambidextrous counterpart to the similar G-Wolves Skoll SK-S ACE Edition. Its shape is very similar to the Logitech G Pro Wireless, and while many players prefer the shape of the Skoll for palm grip, the Hati has a reputation as a great claw grip mouse. It's suitable for all hand sizes except extra-large hands, but some people may still find it very small in hand and may prefer the larger and slightly heavier Hati HT-M.

For more options, see our picks for the best wired mice, the best gaming mice, and the best lightweight mice.

Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT

The Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT is a more versatile ultra-light gaming mouse with better performance than the G-Wolves Hati HT-S ACE Edition. The Logitech connects either wirelessly with its USB receiver or with its charging cable. It also feels sturdier and has smoother gliding feet. Performance-wise, it has a higher maximum CPI, a more consistent sensor, and much lower click latency. It also has customization software compatible with Windows and macOS, while the G-Wolves software is only compatible with Windows. On the other hand, the G-Wolves is a wired-only mouse. It's also lighter and has a marginally lower minimum CPI, though this feature is unlikely to impact most users.

Razer Viper Mini

The Razer Viper Mini and the G-Wolves Hati HT-S ACE Edition are comparable ultra-lightweight gaming mice. The Razer feels sturdier and has lower click latency. Its mouse feet also have rounded edges, while the G-Wolves feet have sharp edges, but this is unlikely to be noticeable during everyday use for most users. It also allows you to program a HyperShift button to enable a secondary layer of controls. On the other hand, the G-Wolves is somewhat lighter. It also has a wider CPI range, a more adjustable CPI, and a lower lift-off distance. Both mice are suitable for all grip types, but the G-Wolves is more accomodating for more hand sizes.

BenQ ZOWIE EC2

The G-Wolves Hati HT-S ACE Edition is a better, wired gaming mouse than the BenQ ZOWIE EC2. The G-Wolves is nearly half of the weight of the BenQ and feels sturdier. It also has a more flexible cable and mouse feet that glide more smoothly. Performance-wise it has a lower lift-off distance, a wider CPI range, and you can precisely adjust the CPI, while the BenQ only has four CPI presets. It also has customization software which the BenQ lacks. Both mice have nearly identical click latency and are well-suited for all grip types.
