When players think of Playground Games' Forza Horizon 4, it's usually sprawling races and rough, chaotic scrambles that come to mind. Yet, an underrated feature of this epic, open-world racer is its swift and straightforward drag races.
These take the form of quick straightaway sprints—which allow players to hit the ground running and show off the builds of their fast, potent vehicles. These races strip away the bells and whistles of the game's more elaborate events; focusing on speed first and foremost while harkening back to a simpler era in arcade racers. While short and simple, these events greatly showcase the exhilarating, adrenaline-fueled nature of Forza Horizon 4 in its purest, most undiluted form.

These drag races are almost always a fun thrill ride—yet there are a number of cars that can truly blow the hair back of players and increase their odds of finishing first.
10 Porsche 906 Carrera 6
Being equipped with a 210 brake horsepower (bhp) carbureted flat-six engine, this 1966 classic from Germany boasts a ride that's smooth, even-keeled, and surprisingly speedy. Of course, when it comes to this retro racing car from Porsche, there are faster cars to choose from.
Still, above-average acceleration and solid launch abilities make it a great choice for those bite-sized drag races. The Porsche 906 Carrera 6 will hit the ground running and leave opponents in the dust fairly quickly and easily. This antique is something of a collectible for car enthusiasts, being a Hard-to-Find car that can't be found at the Autoshow.
9 Koenigsegg Agera RS
Held back only a tad from its more lukewarm acceleration, this rear-wheel-drive (RWD) hypercar is otherwise an easy pick for frenzied drag races. After all, the Koenigsegg Agera RS is the fastest stock production car, not only in Forza Horizon 4 but in the entire Forza series.
Thanks to its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, and a whopping 1341 bhp, this beast can absolutely fly through the streets, hitting a sky-high speed of 280 mph. While handling leaves a bit to be desired, this is hardly a concern when zipping across the drag racing straightaways anyway. This elite vehicle can be had at the Autoshow for 2,000,000 CR, though it's quite worth the steep asking price.
8 Ferrari 599XX Evo
It's hard to leave these classic Italian luxury cars out of the conversation when it comes to fast racing cars, and the 599XX Evolution reminds players why Ferrari is such an icon in this regard. With a 6.0L naturally-aspirated V12 and 740 bhp, this sleek supercar hits a stock top speed of 240 mph but can fly at up to a whopping 320 mph when maxed out.
Being the fastest car in the game with these enhancements, this 2012 car from Italy is really a no-brainer when it comes to the fast-paced thrill ride that is drag racing. And as a nice bonus perk, it has great handling to back up its super speed, making it a good choice for Speed Zones and Speed Trap PR Stunts as well. Not surprisingly, this is a Hard-to-Find vehicle that isn't available at the Autoshow.
7 Toyota Supra RZ
Touted as having a motor that's "the stuff of legend" and generating loads of horsepower—the Supra RZ thrives as both a swift, powerful race car and a luxury sports car. Discontinued in 2022, this car reaffirmed its racing chops and proved it could hang with the elites of the modern era with its 2019 relaunch.

When laced with the S1 class preset, the Supra Horizon RZ Edition shines as the fastest S1 class car when it comes to top speed. It can hit a lightning-quick 248 mph and boasts solid launch abilities to boot. This car can be scored for 250,000 CR at the Autoshow, though is also won upon hitting Tier 2 in Horizon Life: The Eliminator.
6 Maserati MC12 FE
While each sibling in the Maserati MC12 family thrives in its own way, the Forza Edition particularly gets the job done when it comes to drag races. After all, it's an upgraded variant that boasts a Speed Skills enhancement as well as a more potent upgrade preset of S2 997.
A mainstay in the Forza franchise, this sleek RWD supercar proves it's still one of the best for racing, hitting speeds well over 200 mph and doing so in a hurry with its excellent launch ability. It can be scored at the Autoshow for 1,000,000 CR.
5 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 FE
Laced with a 6.5L naturally-aspirated V12 and 700 bhp, the default model of this luxury supercar is far from a slouch—though as is usually the case, the Forza Edition brings further enhancements. This edition offers an S2 997 upgrade preset that brings a maxed-out engine with even more horsepower.
These more potent presets make this Lambo one of the fastest cars in the game; and quite easy on the eyes as it dazzles opponents in its wake. It requires merely a few seconds to hit a solid 100 mph, and quickly hits a warp speed of 270 mph, which excels beyond most SR class cars when it comes to straight-line performance. With stellar abilities in speed, launch, and acceleration, this one is a must-drive. The FE is unfortunately absent from the Autoshow, but with enough luck, it can be won via Wheelspin or Super Wheelspin.
4 Ford Mustang RTR S5
Not to be left out of the fun, the US of A tosses its hat in the ring with this more-than-capable sports car; a variant of the 2018 Ford Mustang GT which is found in Forza Motorsport 7. Even with its more tepid A 780 build, this Mustang boasts terrific launching abilities right out of the gate, allowing players to get a nice jump start on opponents.
With a 460 horsepower Coyote V8 and a 10-speed paddle-shifted transmission, this potent car thrives when it comes to speed as well as performance. Its solid handling makes it fairly versatile and optimal even during the slicker, more treacherous conditions of winter. The car is missing from the Autoshow, but can be obtained by redeeming a pass at the Horizon Backstage, and may also show up as a Forzathon Shop or Festival Playlist reward.
3 Shelby Monaco King Cobra
Dating back to 1963, this American race car proves that true classics can withstand the test of time. That's the case with this charming car, with its "screaming 289 V8" which churns out 400 bhp and a light, aerodynamic build that allows it to zip across the racetrack in a flash.

In terms of sheer speed, there are better options, though the unique build of this light, sleek race car lends itself to the fast, straightforward nature of drag races. This is especially the case given its awesome launch capabilities, which stand at an impressive 8.7 with the S1 837 build. Even better, the car can be had fairly cheap, specifically for 550,000 CR at the Autoshow.
2 Rimac Concept Two
This 2019 beast from Croatia can count itself among the most potent hypercars ever. It also holds the distinction of being powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor.
With 1887 bhp and impressive top speeds of over 258 mph, this awesome vehicle can truly leave opponents in the dust. This is especially the case with its superb acceleration, which allows the Rimac to fly down the street at 60 mph in just under 2 seconds. This is a Hard-to-Find vehicle that can't be had from the Autoshow.
1 McLaren F1 GT
With its sleek build and aerodynamics designed for piercing the air at warp speeds, this '97 supercar from the UK is a terrific choice for speedsters. The car is loaded with a 6.1L naturally-aspirated V12 and 618 bhp, allowing it to burst from 0 to 100 in under seven seconds.
Its top speed is quite impressive too, as it can hit 241 mph without breaking a sweat. In fact, a fully upgraded F1GT can burn through a quarter-mile drag race in a mere seven seconds, making it objectively top-tier when it comes to drag races.
Forza Horizon 4 was released on September 28, 2018, and is available on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
