First Alert Forecast: More rounds of severe storms possible this afternoon and tonight (7)

First Alert Weather Day today with possible strong to severe thunderstorms. It will be hot and humid with rounds of strong to severe storms. Some are possible this afternoon and more late in the day and overnight.

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 3pm for much of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. A Flood Watch is in effect for Middle Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky until early Monday morning.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY - TODAY:

Today is a First Alert Weather Day. More rain and thunderstorms are moving through this afternoon, with a severe threat. Otherwise this afternoon will be hot and humid with highs near 90.

This evening, scattered strong to severe storms will develop northwest of Nashville and begin to settle southeastward. All severe hazards will be possible -- hail, damaging wind gusts, isolated tornadoes, and even localized flooding. Right now it looks like the main line tonight ahead of the front will move through late tonight, through the early morning hours of Monday is fair game for severe weather. This round will enter southern Kentucky between 9pm - 10pm in Nashville around 11pm to 12mid and exiting Middle Tennessee by about 5am.

A Flood Watch is in effect for Middle Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky until early Monday morning.

First Alert Forecast: More rounds of severe storms possible this afternoon and tonight (9)

MEMORIAL DAY:

Monday will start off with showers and thunderstorms exiting to the southeast. There will be plenty of dry-time in the afternoon. Highs will rise into the middle and upper 80s. Pop-up storms will be possible again in the late-afternoon and evening.

NEXT WEEK:

On Tuesday, expect much nicer conditions. Mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle 80s are in the forecast.

Dry weather is expected from Wednesday through Friday as well with highs ranging from the low to middle 80s.

Next Saturday looks decent. A mix of sun and clouds are expected. A shower can’t be ruled out, particularly late in the day. Highs will be in the middle 80s.
