Important SLC Coke Pin Information...

I've added this page as a warning to all collector's, whether or not you're collecting SLC Coca-Cola pins.  Coca-Cola USA has reissued 4 of the same exact pin designs that were released only in Nagano and Sydney during the Olympic Games.  To the experienced pin collectors, the reissued pins are easy to tell from the originals, but not so easy for the newer collectors.  The pins that were released in Nagano and Sydney were limited to 500 each, while the new reissued pins are unlimited in production.  At any rate, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are the originals side by side with the new releases.

Notice the difference between these 2 pins?  The background on the Nagano pin has a brushed gold look to it, while the reissued pin's background looks speckled (almost like gold glitter).  The original Nagano pin is cloisonné (the color enamel is filled to the top of each design segment), while the reissued pin is die struck soft enamel (soft enamel color fill is not filled to the top of the design colored in).
